Manage Your Day-To-Day: Build your Routine, Find your Focus and Sharpen your Creative Mind- Introduction
Thomas Edison famously said
"Genius is 1% inspiration and 99% perspiration"
To make great ideas a reality, we must act, experiment, fail, adapt, and learn on a daily basis. In the book Manage Your Day-To-Day: Build your routine, Find your focus and Sharpen your creative mind they talk about the four key skill set for success which they say are:
Building a rock solid daily routine,
Taming your tools (before they tame you),
Finding focus in a distracted world and
Sharpening your creative world.
Finding focus in a distracted world and
Sharpening your creative world.
From reading the book I've came to realizes that one's valuable energy could be consumed by bad habits and that the working environment has changed dramatically in the technological aspect of it. We also need to be careful to face the demons of everyday actives in order to be productive as its not about ideas, its about making ideas happen.
When folks want to be creative hey usually have ideas but produce loads of reason why they don't carry them out. Therefore we need to stop blaming surroundings and start taking responsibility for our productiveness. We often continue to work in the same manor adapting to new surroundings but not actually evaluating or consciously changing/ adapting our working or creating habits.
We react to what comes to us rather than doing what is actually important and matters most to us. Social media can become a massive disadvantage when it takes us away from our thinking and acting, we both hold the problem and also the solution to our day-to-day challenges. Our mind and our energies are ours and ours alone. We can become a victim of our surroundings or we can take stock of how we work and how we do what we do and make the necessary changes.
