Chapter Three- Taming Your Tools

A famous quote once said;
"The difference between
successful people and
very successful people
is that very successful
people say 'no' to
almost everything."
-Warren Buffett

Making E-mails Matter
It is estimated that 28% of the working week is spend reading, writing or responding to emails. to master your emails:
  • Label and code emails, sort emails into easily define topics/ people, make important emails sit at top/ resurface, track emails and delete old emails, write shorter emails (5 sentences). My inbox is an extension of my brain - however our digital selves can cope with more input than our physical selves.
Three important things to make the most of your inbox; know your complex goals / long term , connect the dots, lets things go. Put long term goals on post it note and stick to desk as a reminder. Give each message some consideration and find someone to share it with. Keep an eye on the long term goal. Distracting but less useful opportunities have to die in order to promote the fulfilment of most important goals
